NACEA Monthly Meeting/Mini Seminar (Feb 20, 2010)
Effective Business Plan Writing and First-hand Entrepreneurship Experience

The small gathering of NACEA members and officers at the law offices of Zhiyu Hu was limited to only 30 total participants due to space restrictions, but there was much discussion and participation generated at the event, with officers reminiscing with members about their experiences in China and starting the organization.

Thanks to the efforts of NACEA officers, the support of its members, and contributions from many more, the October 24 Seminar, which patterned itself after the January Seminar earlier this year, was another success! More than 100 people showed up and listened attentively to each of the presentions.

Experiences of Entrepreneurship in China

Trip to 8 Cities in China - Findings and Initiatives

On June 28th, 2009, NACEA held its 4th mini-seminar this year at the HSBC branch in Summit. More than 60 people attended the meeting, and for the third consecutive time registration had to close early because of the high demand and limited seating. NACEA's 10-member delegation, led by May Li, President of NACEA, visited 10 cities in China.

Legal Aspects of Starting Up a Business as Partnership

The meeting was another great success as more than 70 people crowded into the 10th floor meeting room of the Wilentz Goldman & Spitzer building. Online registration again had to be closed 2 days before the event due to the overwhelming response from interested people and limited space.

NACEA Entrepreneurs Series (January 10, 2009)
Business Plan Presentation & Pitching

Thanks to the efforts of NACEA officers, the support of its members, and contributions from many more, the January 10 seminar was a great success! In spite of the severe snow warning and freezing weather, more than 120 people showed up and listened attentively to each of the presentions, which were unanimously acknowledged as being of superior quality and value by both the panelists and the audience.

The First NACEA Networking Meeting was a great success as more than 45 people crowded into the Scotch Plains Library meeting room and separated into subgroups for intense and satisfying group meetings. The subgroups were Biotech & IT, Engineering/New Energy/Environment, and Trading/Finance/Other businesses. Felicia Zimmerman of Fast Track English started the meeting by giving a very entertaining presentation on communication skills.

Business Opportunities and Funding Resources for Minority Entrepreneurs

The NACEA 6th Entrepreneur Seminar was successfully held in NJIT's bright new GITC building. Over 65 people showed up in spite of the summer vacation season and a dozen joined the NACEA as formal members on the spot.

Courting the Angels and VCs

The fifth NACEA Entrepreneur Seminar was an overwhelmingly GREAT success as people completely filled the large AvTech conference room to listen to our three speakers: Jonas Wang, Ph.D., Partner, Sycamore Venture; John Ason, Angel Investor; and Stephen Furnari, Partner, Furnari Levine LLP.

The second public seminar featured business lawyers Michael Huey and Zhiyu Hu who discussed with us the various legal issues regarding business set-up. In addition, Mr. Junfei Sheng, Chairman and CEO of China Star Group, reviewed the current economic situation in China
